Two-Way translation
1 min read · 3 clips
Use Two-Way when two people or groups talk to each other in different languages. Setup takes 3 steps. Open Two-Way in Saydi.
Step 1. Choose the 2 languages
- The top bar shows the 2 languages used in the conversation. The default is English and Vietnamese. Choose the language for each side: speech in the first language appears in the left column, and speech in the second appears in the right. Saydi remembers your selection and uses it as the default next time.
- To change a language, click its name, type the language you need, then select it from the list.
- Use the round arrow button only when you want to swap the left and right columns. You do not need to press it when the other person starts speaking—Saydi listens for both languages automatically.
Leave Voice off in a meeting room
Voice reads translations aloud. Leave it off when people can hear each other, so it does not talk over them.
Step 2. Choose the microphone
- Click the small arrow beside the microphone icon at the bottom left.
- Choose Microphone for people in the room, System / Tab for a video or online call playing on this computer, or Both when you need both sources.
- If available, choose the room's USB conference microphone. It usually hears everyone more clearly than the laptop microphone.
Step 3. Start and test
Click Start Talking. When the browser asks for microphone access, click Allow, then say one sentence.
It is working when
Your words appear in one column and the translation appears in the other. When the other person replies in the second language, Saydi translates in the opposite direction automatically.
Using a TV or projector?
This is optional and works with every mode. See Show Saydi on a TV or projector.
While Saydi is running
