On your phone
1 min read
The Saydi app puts the same translation in your pocket. For visiting partners, trade shows, a taxi ride with a foreign colleague, or a quick chat in the corridor.
Install and sign in
- Install Saydi: AI Voice Translator from the App Store (iPhone, iPad) or Saydi: AI Real Time Translator from Google Play (Android). Or go to saydi.ai/download.
- Open the app and sign in the same way you do on the computer (Google, Microsoft, Apple or email). Your credits, history and terminology are shared between phone and computer.
- Allow the app to use the microphone when it asks. Without that, nothing will show up.
What the app can do
| On your phone | Same as on the computer |
|---|---|
| One-Way | Someone presents or gives a tour; you read along. Saydi detects the language. |
| Two-Way | Two people taking turns. Put the phone between you, screen up. |
| Transcribe | Speech to text with speaker labels, no translation. |
| Events | Join an event by scanning its QR code, or run one from your phone. |
| Voice | Hear the translation read aloud. Handy with earphones in a noisy place. |
| Screen audio | Translate sound playing on the phone, like a video or a call in another app. |
| History and summaries | Every session is saved with an AI summary, and you can edit the transcript afterwards. |
| AI Context | The names and terms you added on the computer work here too. |
A quick conversation, step by step
- Open the app and choose Two-Way.
- Set the 2 languages at the top: yours and theirs.
- Put the phone on the table between you, screen facing up, so you can both read.
- Tap Start and talk normally. Take turns; pause briefly before the other person replies.
- When you're done, tap Done. The conversation is saved in History, on your phone and on your computer.
Tips that make a difference
- In a noisy place, hold the phone closer to whoever is speaking, or use earphones with a mic.
- Keep the screen on. If the phone locks, the session pauses.
- Mobile data is fine. A conversation uses very little.
- Add the other person's name and company to AI Context beforehand if you can. Names are the thing most often heard wrong.
Screenshots and clips for the app are coming
We're recording them on a real phone. The steps above are the same as on the website.
