Training and briefings
1 min read
Situation
One person presents and everyone else follows: onboarding a new team, explaining a new policy, a safety briefing, product training by an overseas trainer, a monthly all-hands. 10 to 100 people in a room.
Benefits
- The trainer speaks at a natural pace. The room reads the translation on a large screen.
- No pauses for interpretation, so a 1-hour session takes 1 hour.
- Participants who are less confident in the trainer's language understand the full content.
- The transcript serves as the handout. Send it after the session instead of writing up notes.
Mode and setup
Use One-Way. You do not set the speaker's language; Saydi detects it.
- Set Translate to to the audience's language. Turn on Full screen on the projector or TV.
- Give the trainer a microphone, preferably a lapel or headset microphone. If the room has a PA system, take the audio from the mixer; see Stage tech.
- Enter the session's terminology in AI Context. If there are slides, the words on the slides are a good starting point.
Notes
- Text size 6 or above on the projector. Check from the back row before participants arrive.
- If the audience needs several languages, use Event Mode so each person chooses their own.
- For the Q&A, switch to Two-Way so questions from the audience are translated as well.
After the session
A full transcript in both languages, ready to share as a reference document.
