Reception, customer service and clinics
1 min read
Situation
A front desk, a shop, a clinic, a bank branch, a public service counter. Foreign customers arrive and the staff on duty do not share a language with them. Staffing every shift with multilingual employees is not realistic.
Benefits
- Staff and customer talk normally across the counter; each reads the translation on a screen facing them.
- One tablet or laptop at the desk serves every language, all day.
- The conversation is saved, which helps when a case is handed to a colleague or when there is a question later about what was said.
Mode and setup
Two-Way on a tablet or laptop at the counter, screen facing the customer. Staff who move around can use the phone app.
- Set the staff's language on one side. When a customer arrives, set their language on the other side. This is the only change per customer.
- A small USB microphone on the counter picks up both people better than the device's built-in microphone.
- Click Start Talking when the customer arrives and Done when they leave.
Notes
- Keep a note of your customers' common languages next to the device so staff can select them quickly.
- Add product names, service names and prices to AI Context.
- Turn on Voice if the customer prefers to listen rather than read.
- For a busy counter, a company plan with shared credits is appropriate. See Members & credits.
Result
A record per customer conversation in History, useful for follow-up and for training new staff.
