One-Way translation

1 min read · 1 clip

For when one person presents and the room listens: seminars, briefings, training. Go to saydi.ai/console/translate-one-way.

One-Way: set the language you want to read, click Start Talking, the room reads along

There's one difference from Two-Way: you don't set the speaker's language. The left box says Any language, and Saydi works out who is speaking. Just set the language you want to read on the right.

Start a One-Way session

  1. Set Translate to on the right to the audience's language.
  2. Pick the microphone at the bottom left. In a hall, take the sound from the mixer, not the laptop. See Stage tech.
  3. Click Start Talking and say one sentence. Check that the words and translation appear.

Using a TV or projector?

This is optional and works with every mode. See Show Saydi on a TV or projector.

While Saydi is running

Use Pause for breaks. Check that the sound bars move when the speaker talks. Use Reset only when you intentionally want to clear the screen.

When you finish

Click Done before closing the browser tab. Your transcript and AI Summary are saved in History. See History and transcripts to find, copy, share or export them.

Good for: seminars, training sessions, safety briefings, a foreign trainer explaining a machine, an all-hands where most people read one language.

Large halls

Text size 6 or more on the projector, checked from the back row. Big multilingual audience → consider Event Mode, where each person reads on their own phone.
